Released on February 14, 2006, SOS is the lead single from Barbadian singer Rihanna's second studio album, A Girl Like Me. The song contains a compositional sample of Tainted Love, a song written by Ed Cobb, who is also one of the co-writers of SOS. SOS topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks, becoming Rihanna's first #1 single on the chart.
